The Princess of Dance brought her American Ballet for the most delightful dance act to have ever graced the Boston stage. Hoffman's first of 15 numbers was a dance of barbario feeling - the weird, oriental thing, a Dance of the Chains. The song suggested that Pandora's Box had been opened, all the evils unleashed on the world. Her hands were bound; her body wound in modest garments. Her "master" tears off her coverings to reveal Hoffman in an oriental style. The orchestra contributed excellently to the piece. The following dances included a ballet of toe-dancers; a Dutch dance; mirror dance; and a toy soldier piece. Miss Hoffman and her partner were particularly striking in a Russian number, picturesque of its costumes and colors.
