Sullivan & Weston

– C.D.F. 17 minutes. 5 minutes in one. A non-descript discussion, which by the lively way of its presentation appealed to our audience to-day and earned much laughter and considerable applause. Their close in one however, is not an advantage to the act unless they could introduce some better talk, but they closed well and should do the whole act in one, 2 shows.

Chris Lane

3 shows, 15 min, in 1. This man was so bad we cancelled him at once, notwithstanding as he had played New York and Philadelphia, and has some of the other houses to follow. He is coarse to the verge of vulgarity, has an unprepossessing personality, and there were some hisses for the worst of his rude jokes.

Chris Lane

A young fellow in a song, parody, and a little bit of a talking act. He doesn’t do a very brilliant turn, but in the present scarcity of three-show-a-day acts I think he is all right in an early part of the bill. He has one of those stories built up on the titles of different plays which is good, and he signs one or two songs that are not at all bad and can be rated as fairly good. 13 min, in one.

Raymond and Caverly

2 shows, 16 min in 1. This team of German dialect comedians and parody singers had much new dialogue which did not seem to strike the audience as being so funny as on the occasion of their last engagement, though it did me personally. The finished strong with their burlesque operetta, and we look for them to go as well as ever during the balance of the week.

Wilson and Davis

3 shows, 16 min, in 1. Comedy conversationalists and parody singers, first time here. They work is imitation of Fields and Ward, but fall short. Some of their material was a trifle objectionable, and I had to ask them to eliminate several words that are tabooed on this circuit, and likewise an impertinent references to the President of the United States, which is never tolerated here. In other respects the act was all right, much of their talk being funny and the parodies decidedly clever.
