Les Renos

6 men. Parisian Pantomimic Burglars. In a quick break-away, slap-stick, trick-house pantomime. Did not go so well this afternoon with the holiday crowd. After it is in better working shape, I think it will be more appreciated. At the price, the act is alright. 12 min. full stage.

Zazell-Vernon Company

Pantomime, “The Elopement”: 15 min. F.S. 2 shows. This is one of the best comedy acrobatic acts in Vaudeville. They carry their own scenery and there is abundance of quick action and fun throughout, with enough of surprises to keep the audience interested. It was such a laughing hit that we put it a little further up the bill as it is badly needed there. Distinctly O.K. wherever placed.

Byers and Hermann

Spectacular pantomime. Two men. One working as a clown and the other as a skeleton. They carry two sets of scenery, an interior and an exterior. The interior act represents a picture gallery. It is all trick stuff and work similar to the old Hanlon act of Fantasma & Superba. The man who makes up as a skeleton is probably the contortionist I have ever seen. The act seemed to thoroughly please the audience this afternoon for everyone seemed perfectly willing to wait until the end. A very good act. 15 min. Two special sets. F. S.

Zazell and Vernon Co.

Presents a very good comedy pantomime act and were one of the hits of the bill. 15 min. F.S. 5 min. in one.

Byers & Hermann

Acrobatic and contortion pantomime. One man in a pretty fair acrobat, while the other is a very good contortionist. Closed with a high-wire act. Good act of its kind. Finished to big applause. Improved greatly since the try-out of September 22nd, 1905, but they are getting entirely too much money for the set. 14 min. –full stage- 2

The Swiss Express

John F. Bryne’s pantomimic production in three scenes. Scene 1 shows the departure of the Bridal party to take the Swiss Express, which opens rather tame, no life, nee [sic] more rehearsal. Scene 2 street leading to the Station, used more to get the stage, contains some business with drunken man, Policeman, etc. Scene 3 sleeping car, en route. This is the only part of the pantomine [sic] that amounts to anything. The business is good, quick action, funny situations, etc.  The act closes with an explosie [sic] showing the engine blown up, cars smashes, etc. The finish of the act is good. The laughs were scattered. The act close with very little applause.

Merian’s Dogs

10 mins. Spec. set. Doing a shot ten minute pantomime skit. Their drops looked very bad in comparison with our own scenery, which had to be used to mask with. Act received liberal applause.

Rosario Guerrero

“The Rose and the Dagger”. This is her second appearance here this season. We gave an extended report on Feb. 8th. The act has improved since then and went very strong. For a dramatic pantomime, it is first class. Miss Guerrero is always charming. Full stage. Time 15 minutes.

Meriar’s Dogs

They present a village drama in pantomime entitled, “A Faithless Woman”. Repeated former success.

Bedini and Arthur’s Comedians

2 shows, 25 min, full stage. Presenting for the first time here a pantomimic comedy, ‘High Jinks,’ which is given three scenes, the first the interior of a French café, the second corridor of a prison and the third a stone quarry, which in themselves are unique in the varieties. It scored a fair laughing hit but requires considerable coaching in various ways and perhaps a change or two in the performers, but at the end of a fortnight, when it is scheduled to go ‘on the road,’ it should be one of the best things of the kind that has ever been offered in vaudeville for money.
