Blake’s Circus

One of the largest animal acts of its sort. Practically without setting and aparatus. Troupe of forty animals. A trick pony is a feature. It lies down in refusal to do to the doctor so a monkey is called. A dog also rides a bucking pony. The act closes with a donkey that audience memeber can try to ride for prizes. Blake claims to be the only one who has ever ridden the donkey.

Crowning chickens at 11pm around town is not a common occurence. There are two pigs, one is a squealer and the other a full grown filthy looking hog which should not be on stage.

Mascart’s Monkeys

One of the comedian monkeys does his best to break up the show. The Barber shop is so poor it should be left out until further developed.

Prof. Dewar

Same animals used it Goolman’s dog and cat act. One dog is muzzled and the others should be. The trainer is brutal with the whip and uses it unmercifully at the least sign of inattention of the canines.

Jacob’s Dogs

Has three well trained dogs. They do acrobatic work only. One trick has a dog do a complete summersault landing on the palm of the trainers hand on his front paws only. No whip is used.

Cabaret

Well trained dogs small enough to work on a table. The somersault dogs are best. The high jump should be cut down because no dog made the jump clean. Special tricks are well handled. The man needs to stop wearing a straw hat and the woman a dress that looks like a spangled Mother Hubbard wrapper.

Kurtis and Busse

The dogs work hard to earn their biscuit. The act is so well put together that it is not until afterwards that you realize the dogs do not do much.

The Ortaneys

Have three dogs. Two of the dogs have difficulty understanding what is wanted of them.

Col. Magnus Schultz

Three platforms, one which is fixed, the other two swinging. The three trapeze dogs leap across them. “The other tricks are common place”
