Mallory Brothers, Brooks and Halliday

Have a new song which features a prop bullfrog. “Neither Misses Brooks of Halliday make up, and their features have a normal appearance, more pleasant than the many other coloured women who believe they add and attractivness by besmearing their faces with paint or powder.”

Timothy J. Cronin

A nurse is played by an unobtrustive woman who recieved no credit, nor should she. Cronin is not entitled to any praise for his perfomance.

“The Crickets”

Girls are dressed up to represent crickets. Florence Saunders is the leader. There is a Geisha number and drill in white uniforms. The lighting effect are poor. The names of famous Americans are spelled out during the marches and a likeness is thrown up on the screen.

Rose Stahl

Has returned from out west. Travel is shown by the white gloves of one of the characters in the piece.

Ortaneys

Three men and three dogs. If acrobatic work three high is to be shown then a man should be on the top rather than a dog.

Nellie Seymour and Josie Allen

Start in colonial dresses and Miss Seymour works forward to a Bowert tough girl while Miss Allen goes backwards to ancient Greece in “clinging robes over starched pedicoats.” The act lacks balance and symetry.

Emma Francis

“Made the Frenchiest little figure in a spangled dress of red and white, doing her acrobatic work in bloomers to match the skirt.” Has two of Hassan Ben Ali’s boys to help out and they have some very good tumbling. Miss Francis has also taught them to dance.
