“The Intruder”

Another way to bring a two-act upon the stage from the audience. “The Intruder” suggests a sketch and the opening does the same. The drop goes up on a parlor set. A girl is standing there. She turns, sees the audience, shouts to let down the curtain and rushes off, then returning after the curtain is raised, to explain the people who are to play the sketch have gone to a club entertainment. The audience’s indulgence is asked until they return.
