Franceses Redding has been appearing in the same piece under the title of "My Friend From Texas" nearly since the time Mr. Simon last played it. That was a good many years ago. The "big time" and the "small time" know the piece forward and backward.
"Wild Willie Wilkins" - Simon plays an English "silly ass" reduced to the long-ago conception of an "American dude."
When the sketch was originally written by Will M. Cressy, it was a rather decent bit of fun. Today the piece looks silly. It is nothing that has not been seen at least a dozen times. While the supporting cast may be capable the sketch does not permit one to believe it. Simon should wise-up and select something else for his reappearance to vaudeville.
