John J. McGraw

This baseball act entitled “Inside Baseball” was twelve minutes long on the full stage. John J. McGraw is a baseball player and manager turned monologist. He tells four or five stories about baseball and is accompanied by a young pitcher named Mathewson.

Four Baseball Players

This act entitled “Twenty Minutes in the Clubhouse” was fifteen minutes long. The quartet of players consists of Bill Gleason of Galveston, George Crable (recently signed to Cleveland), Tom Dillon of Macon, and Frank Browning (signed by the Philadelphia Nationals). The boys sing and talk in their baseball uniforms. Crable tells a story about playing against Wagner in Galveston. The finish involves one of the men who pretends to make a long hit, jumps through the orchestra pit and back up onstage to be tagged out.

Bartello and Co.

This strong act was ten minutes long on the full stage. The company is actually one assistant to Bartello, who does next to nothing. During the finale, Bartello offers fifty dollars to anyone in the audience who can duplicate his trick.
