Five Mowatt’s

club swinging act. The auburn haired and blonde haired boys “have no mercy on themselves or others when swinging clubs”. Several spectacular formations attracted the “approval of the house”

Al Lawson and Frances Namon

They do a bicycle and bag punching act. “Miss Namon’s bag punching will never arouse professional jealousy among the pugilists, but she is a strikingly handsome Amazon, wears her clothes gracefully and is altogether a welcome adjunct to the act.”

McWatters and Tyson

They have cut out the dressing room scene. McWatters works the blackface change with stereopticon slide showing the rest of the minstrel troupe. There is a basket trick. Two songs are spoiled through use of lanterns. “A bright stage is far better than these fool light effects, but performers cannot see it this way.” Miss Tyson has the “mobility of countenance” of a Fay. “She can make more faces in a given time than a small boy who has partaken of green apples

Rossow Midgets

Really smart work. Charlie Rossow has cut out his “soubrette impersonation” and in his solo work only does his Sousa.

Cavana

A contortionist. He does his contortions on the slack wire.

Hy Greenway

“Even were he gagged he would not be a clever juggler”

Five Mowatt’s

They work fast, which is “one of the most pleasing features of their performance” but tonight they worked so fast they could not catch things. “Dropped things all over the stage”.

Sylvano

uses a pedestal and the usual tower of chairs. “His chairs are wired for lamps” and these “show to good advantage”. His stage is “dressed” which makes act look more important.

Pantzer Trio

“about the last in the old line of contortionist to hold a place on the better class bills. They succeed because the act is always neatly dressed and the grotesque posturing fall to the lot of the man”
