Weise Troupe
This high perch act was a part of the Barnum and Bailey’s show at Madison Square Garden.
The Weise Troupe uses a pole so long it would not fit on a conventional stage. Two boys perform on the top of the pole while balancing on the shoulders of the understander.
Corelli and Gillette
This comedic acrobat act is eleven minutes long.
Corelli is the straight acrobat. Gillette is an excellent monologist who is also an acrobat. The talk becomes a larger part of the act than the actual acrobatics, but it is full of laughs.
Angelo Trio
The act was nine minutes long on the full stage.
The act consists of two men and a woman who may be a man as well. They open with a singing number during which one of the men plays the violin. The violinist then acts as the understander. The “woman” balances atop the understander by one hand as he walks up and down stairs while playing the violin. They also do some tumbling and club juggling.
Brothers Tognarelly
Togo and Genevieve
The act was six minutes long.
In this male and female tight wire act, the stocky man does some impressive balancing. The woman keeps the audience entertained long enough for him to catch his breath.
The Leonardos
This ring and trapeze act was seven minutes long on the full stage.
The woman is suspended head down from the rings and trapeze. The man performs on both.
Melrose and Kennedy
Willie Bros.
The act was fourteen minutes long on the full stage.
The Willie Bros. are acrobats who have returned to New York after several years away. They do head-to-head balancing and perch work. The two top mounters are nearly the same weight as the understander, which makes their work that much more impressive.
Aerial Buds
The act was seven minutes long on the full stage.
The Buds perform on the single and double trapeze. They are both young. The routine is particularly notable for its speed.
