Pierce & Maizee

14 min. in one. Man and woman, singing and dancing duo the woman making several changes of costume. Acceptable for the early bill

Lewis McCord & Co

28 min. Bare Stage. Sketch “Her Last Rehearsal.” The audience laughed continuously throughout the sketch. It proved the greatest laugh-getter presented in this house this week. Very good act.

Arthur Bucknee

11 mins. Landscape in 4. Trick bicyclist. Very good sight act, bordering on the sensational in spots. An interesting act throughout, although it received little applause.

The La Tels [Lattels?]

12 mins. Gar. in 3. Two fine looking, well dressed, husky boys, doing acrobatic work and hand balancing. Good sight act. Received deserved applause throughout

Two Ashtons

15 mins. Gar. in 3. Two men, juggling clubs, balls, pates, etc., one working straight, the other as comedian. Good little sight act, pleasing and entertaining

Digby Bell

15 mins. in one. Told some stories and sang “Hurrah for the Boys in Blue,” or something like that. Received courtesy applause on his entrance, and was listened to respectfully. He will be shifted with Sallie Stembler for the balance of the week. As a drawing card his name is good. The finish to his act went extremely well, and on the whole he made good

Valerie Bergere & Co

22 mins. Fancy in 3. In “His Japanese Wife.” Three people in the company – two women and a man. Miss Bergere in the character of the Japanese girl is on the stage most of the time, and does some excellent character work. Her support is good. The sketch is a bit “talky” but is interesting throughout, and the dialogue contains a great deal of quiet comedy – the kind our audience can thoroughly appreciate. Though quiet and lacking action, the sketch is good, and Miss Bergere does all that could be expected of her. Good act.

Petching Bros.

20 mins. Landscape in 4. Comedy and novelty musical act. Have been described before on the circuit. The novelty is very interesting, and the act went very well. Their comedy is not of a very high grade, but the novelty and the music carry the act. Good act.

Three Hickman Bros

18 mins. C.D.F in 3, close in one. Comedy musical act; a good act, but hardly strong enough for their place on the bill, for there are some swift acts just ahead of them. Their finish in one with the cornets is strong, but they may have to go up the bill a bit.

Bellman & Moore

– 24 mins. Special Drop. Man and Woman, in their new sketch “A Gallery Goddess.” Described from New York house last week. For this house the sketch is not nearly as good as “Hester’s Promise.” Didn’t get a hand at the finish of the sketch. Then they started in on another sketch with the same setting. The audience didn’t understand it and neither did we. Act was an awful fall-down. After a speech to the audience stating that the management was short of acts, he said he would deliver a recitation, and then he gave them something on the line of “The Face on the Barroom Floor.” He will change the finish some for to-night’s show.
