This sketch entitled “Hidden in Secret” was seventeen minutes long. Vera McCord plays a Russian countess who is blackmailed by the military governor into revealing the names of the Revolutionary Committee. He claims to have the letters she wrote to her now dead lover and threatens to show them to her husband. After she gives him the names, she stabs him to death in a fit of rage. She wears an expensive-looking fur coat throughout the sketch.
Most of the dialog goes over the heads of the audience. They only realized that the Czar's officer had gone too far with his blackmail near the end of the sketch.
The death scene is poor. The climax should be arranged better so that the sketch has more feeling. The man who plays the military officer should also have his name in the billing, because he did some "bully work".
