“The Meistersingers at the Flag Station”

26 minutes f.s. Special set. This is the newest production of the Meistersingers. Closing a long show, they held the audience in to the finish, and the verdict of the patrons at both performances Monday was that this act is the best The Meistersingers have ever had. The scene shows a flag station in the White Mountains, with the rubes and travelling men hanging around the station, awaiting the arrival of the train. There are ten musical numbers, the climax being the passage of the White Mountain Express. This is a very realistic railroad effect, showing a mogul engine and five long Pullman cars crossing the stage at a mile-a-minute clip. Every number was applauded, and they closed strong.
