Fanny Brice

The act was thirteen minutes long. Fanny Brice, who originated in Burlesque and Ziegfeld’s “Follies”, sings several songs, one of which is a “Yiddish” number. She changes halfway through into eccentric white satin trousers and a red coat.
Fanny Brice is unquestionably talented, but this act does not do her any favours. She starts with two boring numbers which are "not worthy of her talent as a comedienne" and finishes with two silly songs. She has a keen sense of travesty and the Yiddish number was good, but the rest of the act falters. If she just wore one nice gown and sung another song of consequence, the act would be much improved.
