The act is introduced by a series of moving pictures prepared by the Lubin Manufacturing Company of Philadelphia, depicting the troubles of the actress behind the scenes preliminary to her going on the stage. These pictures, posed for by Miss Arville, are so lifelike that when they cease and the actress is revealed in the flesh, the transition is so remarkable as to call forth delighted surprise.
The new act is a costly, elaborate and novel one.
Miss Arville presents a number of new songs, especially written for her, that sets the audience to humming with her and whistling them on the way out of the theatre and in the streets. Her Italian song, "I Wanna Be Just Lika Gibson Girl," her "Kid" song and her Spanish dance were uproariously received.
The large audiences that gilled the theatre were unanimous in declaring the act of the "Irresistible Comedienne" to be the most charming presented in the city for many a long month. Miss Arville was the recipient of more curtain calls than has been accorded any artist in Paterson during the year.
The act is beautifully set, and the costumes displayed are marvels of beauty and good taste.
