Neither goes to extreme of grotesque makeup, the only similarity to the old style dress being in the padded front of one.

They have developed the barroom burlesqu with excellent comedy points and the occasional "roughouse" is perhaps excusable on the ground of its aptness.
This could be dropped with profit.
