Comedy and impersonations.
Bessie Browning, a character comedienne with a somewhat original style of work, didn't quite catch on here, her eccentric type of make up apparently detracting attention from her work. When she changed to a "straight" gown she looked decidedly pretty and on appearance alone in this section earned applause. Her impression of Eddie Foy was liked, Foy having appeared here but recently. Miss Browning is unquestionably clever, but would do well to collect some better material.
