They perform a few old tricks, but the head balancing trick alone shows what disregard they have for danger. One rides a bicycle while the other stands straight on his shoulders. A third rider does a clean head balance on the second man's topknot. They perform another feat in which three men on wheels perform a musical selection with three others do a head balance, playing the bells attached to their ankles and wrists. They also do some tandem work on single wheels and unicycle riding. A head-to-head balance on a single bike with the under man getting on and off his machine, making a complete turn in a sitting posture downstage, and then remounting, got a big hand. They finish with four riders supporting a huge frame-like wheel of roulette pattern by working their machines in an upright position on the stage while the fifth man rides his bike atop the whirling disc.
The German cyclists are very close to copping the prize for a real wheel novelty. They are in a class of their own. Straight bicycle acts have lost their former attraction because of the sameness of the routines; the Aurora Troupe does not have this problem. They can hit any bill and get the right attention.
