Miss Stone carries Kalisz, a director, a maid and a needle and thread. The needle and thread was the only strand of a plot. She previously used it to mend a buttonhole in Kalisz's shirt and now uses it to sew a button onto the neckband of his shirt.
It is remarkable that this opera found itself reviewed on the front of three Chicago dailies. However, there can be no discounting the personal charm and vocal accomplishments of Miss Stone. She sang with a wonderfully sweet voice, acted with rare charm, and alone carried the act to whatever success it attained.
