Both made good, with Miss Rowland gathering an edge on the applause honors.
She doubled from the Palace, appearing at the Colonial first in fourth position. She has several southern ditties, one tinged with Irish, and a Red Cross number that pleased the soldiers as well as anyone. Her finish number, a sort of novelty song called "Rocking the Baby," brought her out for a demand repeat of the chorus, a lyric well laid out.
