The costumes are as good as any collection presented on vaudeville and the setting is truly a revelation.
"The Darling of Paris" - The program, like with all pantomime acts, carries a synopsis of the play, however it is not necessary as the plot is quite discernible and the pantomime perfect. The play is about a reception in honor of Radia Vasdor, "The Darling of Paris" (Mlle. Minar). Taking place at the Palais de la Danse, two suitors are after her, Cornelio Boris (Angelo Palange) and Pompeus Castros (Jules La Barbe). Pompeus attacks Radia because she favors Cornelio. After Cornelio saves her, Pompeus challenges him to a duel. Cornelio is wounded; Pompeus believing he is dead flees. He later returns to mock Radia, who stabs him to death. She confesses to the police but Cornelio staggers in to take the blame upon himself. There is much dancing, allowing Mlle. Minar to shine. A comedy line is also present; Alphonse and Gaston (Jimmie Fox and Jack Marcus) provoke much laughter with their antics. Other principals worthy of mention are Mon. La Barbe, Sig. Palange and Fermin Ruiz. The ten show girls were also stunning.
The play received eight curtains, none of them forced.
The show is miles ahead of anything the producer was ever presented; "gorgeous" expresses all that must be said about it.
