A stand is placed down centre
and a terrier, mounted on a pony, jumps
upon it at each circle of the ring, leaping
back upon the mount as it passes beneath
him. Then two ponies and dogs are
worked at the same. Here comes a laugh
at the pups’ quivering anxiety to catch
their mounts in time, but when, one by
one, the ponies and dogs are worked up to
five, the laughter and applause are immense.
It is a splendid
exhibition of thorough animal training,
and the finish is a really remarkable performance.
