In ‘The Masher.’ 23 minutes f.s. Special drops. First time any stage. Act is in four scenes. Opens house olio in one, with de Haven in a box and Mrs. De Haven singing on the stage. Draws off to special drop in one showing stage door, where de Haven calls for the girl, and after a number they exit. Go to private dining room in four. Have some dialogue and two numbers here; one, a dancing wedding, being the hit of the act. Close before special drop in one, showing outside of girl’s house in New Rochelle, with de Haven left out in the rain while she disrobes behind a transparency in an upper window. Finish shows de Haven walking back to New York with a very pretty rain effect. Act is quite a novelty, held the interest, and closed strong. Does not open or close in one.
