Miss Dallas appears in the olio of "The Serenaders."
The "coon shouter" is rather stout; with her song selections it makes a combination which causes the audience to waver in its opinion.
Since Miss Dallas is purely a "coon shouter," she should go for songs suited to her voice. Two of the songs she performed on Tuesday night were not. Neither "The Carolina Rag" nor "All Alone" could be handled by her. In "All Alone" it was easily recognized that Miss Dallas has missed the very competent teaching of the Harry Von Tilzer numbers that Max Winslow had given last season. By sticking to the numbers that suit her, Miss Dallas might be in a class of her own as the rest of the "coon shouters" are now "artistic singers of rag time melodies."
