Charles Ross, assisted by Zeffle Tillbury

Date:
“Anywoman and Everyman” – Mr. Ross was "Everyman” and gave a dramatic reading of lines. Miss Tillbury, a leading woman from the legitimate, carried forward the impression conveyed by Ross's delivery.
The duologue ran for ten minutes without producing a single smile.
The act was expected to be a travesty, but developed into a very heavy act. The author must have read the book, “Everywoman,” and used for this piece everything that was neglected there. The act could not hold the interest of the audience, nor could it center attention. The act will not stand a chance unless rewritten for comedy.
