You'll Have to Wait Till My Ship Comes In is not a particularly heavy bit of musical composition, but Evans manipulates it to arouse a vast amount of good nature at the finish of his monologue.
It is largely due to the fact that Evans makes himself solid with his audience in the early part of his act that he is so easily able to swing them into working for him later.
