Chevalier changed his act a little today by introducing a French character song and one of his old Cozter favorites—“Mrs. ‘Enery “Awkins.” Although these characters are not generally understood by American audiences, nevertheless, the big holiday crowd today gave most respectful attention and seemed to thoroughly enjoy his wonderful character impersonations. There is no discounting the fact that Chevalier is a great artist, but it is doubtful if he would ever again prove a very strong magnate with us.
