A man and woman in a talking act in which the man uses a lot of up-to-date slang, some of it rather new and got considerable laughter. However, the act as a whole is not quite up to my expectation. Went fairly well. 13 minutes in one.
Hand balancing, perch and ladder balancing. Fairly good act. 5 minutes in one.
A man and two women. An unusually good comedy sketch called “Good Medicine” with lots of material very well presented. A sketch that will make good anywhere. 17 minutes full stage.
Well known quartet which made a very big hit. 17 minutes in one.
“The Editor of the Assassinated Press”. A very good single man talking act done in an unusual way with a lot of excellent material which brings laughter galore. A very good act. 15 minutes in two.
A young man and two young girls with rather attractive act of singing and dancing. 15 minutes in one.
Young woman on a trapeze who does some ordinary tricks using up a bare five minutes of full stage. She bills herself Thelma De Rono & Company. It is ridiclious to put company on the program whereas the said company is a big fat woman who holds a rope for one minute while the girl descends.
(9 mins.) The Japs did as well as usual, working in some comedy along with their other stuff and doing very well in the closing spot.
(19 mins.) A “nut” comedy riot. In addition to their own stuff and they use several other people in the show for their finish, Frank Brown doing a musical number with the boys that proved a regular hurrah. It was a great comedy number to follow Mrs. Castle and scored accordingly.
(21 mins.) Undoubtedly a very strong drawing attraction, pulling both from moving picture and dancing clientele. While the pictures and piano and song numbers are Hupfeld and Mrs. Castle created light interest her dancing, as usual undoubtedly and did all that was expected and received generous applause. Mrs. Castle has given her act beautiful staging and it is a magnificent stage picture.
