It is a long time since a dancing act made as a big hit as this one did yesterday. It is splendidly presented and the dancing is above the average. The atmosphere in which it is presented also lends considerably to its success. 21 minutes f.s.
Mad an [sic] woman in a medley of singing, dancing, instrumental music and wire walking; presented with an addition of comedy in a circus set. Very good act that made a hit. 12 minutes; f.s.
7 min. Swing to the failure of their horse and baggage trunk to arrive from Washington, this act worked under a handicap at the first show. They purchased material and bronze paint and did a series of poses rather than disappoint the audience. Their work is pretty and artistic and in the closing position and a liberal hand.
19 min. This well known comedian worked in German makeup and used German dialect, but this made no difference with our audience. He was given a great reception, kept the audience laughing all the time and closed big. He had made little change in his monologue since last seen here.
23 min. Although this team has played Keith’s more often than any other act in vaudeville, they were warmly received with their new vehicle. Their offering is along the same lines as their old act with a lot of new talk and the usual amount of dancing which scored. Miss Bent displayed three handsome gowns. They finished strong.
17 min. “Dark Clouds.” Their novel opening furnished a big surprise and they went right through to one of the big laughing and applause hits of the bill. The eccentric dancing is a scream and all their comedy, which is well handled, brought results. They took several extra bow.
Fashion show. 30 min. f.s. Although the Madam has a new Stage Manager, etc. they arrived in Boston without baggage Monday and this with the temperament on the over in good shape. Costumes are beautiful; the girls are striking; in fact the whole production is more than worth while, and I think we will do some business even though it is the week before Christmas.
This is a very good and interesting act of acrobats and tumblers but it would be a great deal more valuable to us, if it had not played the Scollay Square Olympia or cheap house, under the name of Orrazzam Troup [sic] about three months ago. Although it is a good act, it seems to me there ought to be enough acts to take the place of troups [sic] of this kind that play a ten cent house a few weeks before they come into a place like Keith’s.
16 min. f.s. close in 1. This act is somewhat similar to their previous offering only the action taken place in a recruiting office. As soon as the lady got dancing the act picked up and closed to a good hand.
19 min. f.s. spl. Set. This well known team have a new act which is very neat, pretty and quite a little comedy, but I think the old act got more big laughs. Went good.
