Adelaide Boothby and Charles Everdean

18 minutes in one. O.P. Drapery. Good comedy sing and piano act in one. “Becky At the Movies” and the burlesque illustrated song. “When the Onion crop is Gathered, Mabel Mine,” used by Dick Lynch in “More Sinned Against Than Usual,” are decided hits. Could go further down.

Lieut. Eldridge

13 minutes f.s. Special set. Open or close in one, picture sheet, as desired, with descriptive talk in Mexico. This man was brought in to-day to replace Eva Taylor, who was disappointed. His talk is very timely, and he filled the spot acceptably.

Sophie Tucker

26 min. With her “Five Kings of Syncopation,” this popular singer of character songs was a tremendous hit. The orchestra not only supplies excellent backing for her songs, but is used for the introduction of some comedy business which helps. The boys are fine musicians and their individual numbers were warmly appreciated. Miss Tucker sang eight songs, all but three of them new here and was a great big applause hit.

Eva Taylor-Lawrence Grattan & Co.

“Rocking the Boat.” This sketch is an old style farce splendidly written around the mistaken identity theme and new in vaudeville. It is very well acted by the entire company, with plenty of action and laugh-winning lines and situations. Made a capital comedy number and was received with warm approval.

Bert La Mont & Cowboys

24 min. Six men in a comedy singing offering, staged in scene representing a cowboy’s camp. Their program consists of ballads and comedy songs and bits of comedy talk and jokes are used. The latter are rather weak, but get some laughs and the singing pulled the act through a good sized hit.

Myrtee Young & Jessica Brown

11 min. This is a new “sister team,” Miss Young formerly being of Moore and Young. The girls sing popular songs and have entertaining offering. They win a lot of favor on their attractive appearance. Sang four songs, two doubles and two singles and introduce some excellent dancing. Won good applause and finished strong.

The Larneds

13 min. Man and woman is comedy bicycle act, the man working in tramp make-up and injecting some comedy. The straight riding forms the feature of their act and with a good routine of tricks, well handled they did very well in the opening spot.

Lew Wilson

16 minutes in one. Olio drop. A new act and a good one. This man works in evening dress with a Charlie Chaplin walk. He sings, whistles, tells stories, dances a bit, and plays the accordion. Is a clever entertainer and put over a good-sized hit.

Tom Edwards and Alice Melville

30 minutes f.s. C.D.F. Short close in one. Olio drop. Edwards is doing about the same act that he gave us on his last visit about eight years ago. Opens with some motion pictures of a Kaffir war dance in South Africa. The woman who assists him is also a ventriloquist, and has a good singing voice. A comedy hit.

Ethel Hopkins

In an act styled “Daughter of Vaudeville.” Was a complete failure. She blamed it on the orchestra – if she had been on hand at the proper time she would have had plenty of time for just rehearsal; arrived long after the orchestra had gone. 8 min.
