Lovenberg Sisters and Co.

Two women two men in a classy offering in three scenes called “Around the Campus.” One of the men is a good singer and they are all fine dancers. The act is well staged and custumed [sic]. 22 min. Full stage act was a big hit taking 8 to ten curtains each show.

Kalmar & Brown

20 min. “Nurseryland.” While this is essentially an act for children and worked under a handicap due to the fact that children are forbidden to enter the theatre owing to the quarantine now in force, this clever couple has a real dancing novelty which fits well into a vaudeville bill. The story is built around nursery rhymes and both indulge in some excellent dancing while several catchy song numbers are introduced during the action. It is prettily staged and scored a good sized hit.

Willie Solar

12 min. This young fellow is just over from London where he has been for some time at the Hippodrome. He is an eccentric singing comedian working straight in evening clothes, getting comedy into his songs by the use of vocal contortions. He finished with some eccentric dancing that also went over big. He registered a solid hit, finishing to a big hand.

Douglas J. Wood & Co.

16 min. “The Shoplifter.” A dramatic sketch employing three persons. It is talky but carries an interesting story which held attention and has a pleasing climax which brings the act to a good finish. Wood is an excellent actor and his support is all that could be desired. While rather heavy for summer, still it was very well liked.

Dong Fong Sue & Harry Haw

16 min. Three modern dance numbers used by these people for a finish form the feature of their offerings. They open with a song and the girl sings one number in Chinese, but it is not until they do their dancing that they reach the merit of their act. They finished to a very good hand.

Florenz Duo

11 min. Man and woman in sleight-of-hand novelty, the woman acting simply as a helper. Man does some very good sleight-of-hand tricks cigarettes, cards and coin, the first named stunt being exceptionally good. Act did very well.

Irene Franklin and Burton Green

30 minutes f.s. White and gold interior. Miss Franklin played this house last April. She repeated very well, offering one new song, several old ones, (which she did not do on her last visit) and “Redhead,” “The Cash Girl,” and “The Old Maid’s Home for Mine.” The same old hit.

Thomas F. Swift and Company

In “Me and Mary.” 16 minutes f.s. C.D.F. A neat little comedy with two musical numbers, written around Mr. Swift’s personality. Got a number of laughs and closed strong. In fact, a hit.

Dooley & Sales

27 min. This comedy couple was a tremendous applause hit, despite the fact that they have been seen here very often. A lot of new comedy talk and business brightens their offering and they are carrying two new drops, one of which is used for a new song. From the time they first come on until they finished, they had the audience in an uproar of laughter and applause. The act registered the biggest hit that has been put over in the next-to-closing position in a long time, winning several extra bows.

The Meistersingers

24 min. This is the fifth annual visit of this famous organization which scored their usual big applause hit with “At the Flag Station,” the vehicle they used last season. A change of program brightened the act considerably and the old numbers withstood repetition. At the finish the singers were rewarded with liberal applause.
