Misses Lightner & Alexander

Singing and piano, 15 minutes (1). Most of the songs are of a tuneful and catchy kind, but the comedy is somewhat weak. The entire affair fails to register up to the feature standard usually looked for at the Bijou.

Heras & Preston

Acrobats, 7 minutes, full stage, 2 men. Accomplish some very good acrobatic feats, working very fast and with no-let up. But the comedy, being very poor, might readily be dispensed with and the act would not suffer in consequence.

The Sharrocks

21 minutes in one. Special drop. These people were moved down here at night, after the failure of Hoey and Lee to hold the audience in at the matinee. An excellent comedy novelty that held the spot and closed strong.

George Bancroft and Octavia Broske

22 minutes f.s. New Gold interior. One of the very best man and woman acts we have played in a long time. Songs, dancing, and a dramatic recitation by the man, closing with a cakewalk. Miss Broske makes a striking appearance and wears some beautiful gowns. Mr. Bancroft also possesses an attractive personality.

Jean Tyson and Co.

“The International Boy.” 15 minutes in one and two. Olio and Palace Drop. A very good act for this spot. The girl makes up as a girl at the opening, then pulls off wig showing boy’s wig underneath. At the finish, she removes that, revealing her true identity. The audience is kept guessing all through the act, as to whether she is really a boy or a girl. Lively songs and dances. Went well.

Corradini’s Animals

12 min. This act includes zebras, elephants, dogs and a horse, and is one of the showiest acts of its kind on the stage, winning applause in the closing of a long show.

Lubowska

12 min. The dancing of this young Russian woman is entirely different than vaudeville has ever seen and the audience was held in rapt attention through each of her three numbers. She wears some wonderful costumes and on looks, novelty and merit of dancing, the act is one of the most artistic vaudeville can boast of and earned liberal applause.

Vasco

19 min. “The Mad Musician.” This is the first week of his second American tour. He was over on this side about six years ago. Plays about thirty instruments of all kinds. Uses some comedy which is his weak point, but the act gets over in good shape on its qualities as a musical novelty. Finished to a big hand of applause.

Arthur Sullivan & Co.

16 min. In a dramatic playlet called “Straight.” This is a crook play working into a big climax at the finish and as an underworld sketch, it held close attention and won a fair amount of applause.

William Western & Co.

A Co. of eight men and women in a singing, dancing and musical offering. Pretty set. Poor singers. Poor dancers. Comedy fair. The two musical numbers on musical instruments good. This offering at the present time is “A Lemon” and will never make good. Look like amateurs. Went fair.
