Songs. 20 minutes in one with grand piano. This team had numerous delays in arriving here and went on at the afternoon show without a rehearsal, cutting a part of their act. They carry a young boy who assists in the singing of their last number. Wenrich received plenty of applause because of the popularity of his songs which he plays. Miss Connolly will never set the world on fire with her voice but succeeded very well in holding attention. At the evening show the act was a hit. (Rochester)
Sketch “Fagan’s Decision.” 30 minutes C.D.F. There’s something about the sketch decidedly attractive. It has never failed to make a hit here and repeated their success yesterday. There was big applause at the finish, regardless of the fact that nearly all of our Monday audience is composed of ‘regulars’ who knew the situation and a part of the lines. (Cincinnati)
Singing comedienne. 17 minutes in one. A very awkward young lady who sings ragtime and character songs, and who appeals to the audience because of her diminutive size. This little lady apparently doesn’t know what ‘tempo’ means and frequently got ahead and behind the orchestra at both shown. Although she received liberal applause Georgette is undoubtedly in too fast company and is well placed in the second position on the bill. (Toledo)
28 min. in one, closing in two. Miss Cox is a great favorite here and always gets advance applause. This is the first time she has appeared with pianist. They simply would not let her go. All of her material is now and all of it good. Finished with the “Aeroplane” girl number which is a scream, and one of the most amusing novelties in one we have ever had.
25 min open in two, goes to one, closes full stage. This is certainly a novelty and is a big laugh all the way through. The burlesque moving pictures give the audience an opportunity to make plenty of fun, and the amusing remarks convulse everybody. All right on any bill where a real laughing act is required.
8 minutes f.s. Palace. About the greatest head-to-head balancing acrobatic work of the kind that we have every played. It is really too bad we are unable to place them in the middle of the bill. Held the audience to the finish, and closed very strong.
9 minutes in one. Olio, This man is about the best imitator of musical instruments, etc. that we have ever had in the house. Far ahead of Leon Rogee. Went very big both performances.
In the baseball comedy, “The New Mascot.” A better act than we anticipated, having no little merit in it. Bound to prove a drawing card on account of the baseball reputation of Jennings. In one. Spec. drop.
Open 15 min. in two, closes 3 min. in one. Mr. Dixey calls his act “A Mono-Drama-Vaud-Ologue.” He does a little of everything singing, dancing, magic, recitation, etc., blending one into the other, holding the audience throughout, and producing, as a whole, an act of high class. Advance hand at both performances Sunday. Went big. OPEN.
Two girls. European light wire and sharp shooting novelty. 7 min. F.S. Ordinary wire act, the novelty consisting of one of the girls while on the wire shooting glass balls at a target in an elevated platform. Nothing especially noteworthy. Went fair. LOUISVILLE.
