“Noodoes” Fagan

Went big. Monologusit [sic] and comedy vrcalist [sic]. Songs and talk good for no end of laughs. One extemporaneous song a big hit. In one. Time 17 minutes.

Harry Judge

Went big. Equilibristic act “The Man With The Ladder”. Full of novelty and carries special drop.  Works in two then full stage. Time 11 minutes.

Mary Davis

Vocalist in character songs. Finish with straight song. Good vocalist and gets lots of laughs. A repeat here and yet her work was well received. In one. Time 9 minutes.

Silver & Sands

Went very well. Dancing act by yong [sic] man and woman. Changes of costume on the part of both. Dancing fair. Work in one. Time 12 minutes.

Gus Edwards

Assisted by his brother at the piano, a girl in a box and mite of a boy in the audience he most pleased and delighted our people will draw money all week. Full stage, closing in one.

Violet Black and Co.

“In the Subway”. Good special setting and clever effects. Our criticism is that they overact and make of it more of a farce comedy, which it is not, than a straight comedy. Full stage.

Leo Carrillo

Chinese stories, mimicry etc. Has a nice personality and his performance has more or less merit. In one.

The 5 MacLarens

A dancing and musical number of very considerable merit. Could be placed in a better position on bill. Full stage, closing in one.

Rooney & Bent

18 min. Scene represents a news stand under a New York elevated station. Pat takes the part of the newsdealer [sic], Miss Bent impersonating a soubrette. Most of the hits are suggested by the names of the popular magazines and periodicals. There is a good deal of spirit and fun, and, of course, the dances win with all parts of the house as usual. Both received a good advance hand and there was laughter and applause throughout with a laughing close. Cut expression “Put your clothes in my trunk any time.”

Edward Abeles & Co.

“Self Defence.” 17 min. This is a very unique melodrama in tabloid version. In the hands of a lesser artist than Abeles would not count so strong. But he has made the most of Broadhurst’s idea and step by step leads up to a thrilling climax. The audience was quite spellbound, and the close gave Abeles a strong hand. One of the strongest stories and best-acted plays we have ever had.
