Gruber’s Animals

Elephant, horse and pony, a very good animal act indeed. It is unusual in its make-up and presentation and pleased thoroughly. 13 Min. F.S.

Carter DeHaven

Assisted by Hanse Hanki. Altho [sic] suffering from severe hoarseness, Mr. DeHaven made a decided hit. No more so, however, than did his pianist. I am glad I am not depending on DeHaven as a headliner, tho [sic], as he could not hold that position in Providence, nor could any other male song and dance artist. I think he will draw some money and is, probably through Mr. Hanke’s assistance, worth the salary we are paying him, but not a cent more. With Mr. Hanke out I should want to cut his salary in half. That may not apply to other cities. But it goes for Providence. 28 Min. in Two.

Mrs. Eva Fay

In Thaumaturgy. There is no question that Mrs. Fay is going to draw us business. This was indicated by the big business of today and a good sale for the week, also inquires as to the time of her appearance, et cetera. The audience showed decided interest in her work, the comedy portions going exceedingly well. I consider her one of the best cards in vaudeville. This portion of her act consumes 25 Min. F.S.

Wilson Brothers

Dutch comedians, the feature of their act being their yodeling. Went very well indeed. 15 min. in one.

Mrs. Eva Fay

Presenting the first part of her act—Spiritualism. This portion is necessary to prepare for her latter feature work. 15 Min. F.S. can open with about 3 min. in one.

Browning & LeVan

Two men in a comedy talking act, one straight and one Jew, in a new idea they call “Nearly a Soldier”. This is a good act, they have a lot of bright line and were received today with marked favor. 16 min. in One.

Tasmanian Van Dieman Troupe

Six women acrobats. The first part of the act is rather tame but they finish well with some dental stunts after the style of the Curzon Sisters, at times four of them float through the air at once hanging by their teeth. 10 min. F.S.

Cotter & Boulden

Man and woman, singing and dancing. Made a very good impression. Competent to hold this position in any show.

Five Musical MacLarens

Four girls and one man. This is splendid value for the money, but they lack finish. With proper handling and stage management, could be made a first class act. 13 min. F.S. Close in One.

Royal Hawaiian Troupe

30 minutes. Full stage. This act scored the biggest hit of the season and well they deserved it as I do not consider we have had a more pleasing vocal and instrumental specialty on our stage.
