The Great Lester

A genuine artist who had not the slightest trouble in giving the house the best line of entertainment of its kind ever seen here. Held the undivided attention throughout and finished very strong. 30 minutes, olio in 1.

Hugh Lloyd

This bounding rope artist held the attention of the audience all the way through. There were numerous punctuations of applause and the finish was all that could be desired. Terrace in 3, 15 minutes.

Sadie Jansel

This young woman introduced a number of songs and impersonations, all of which were fairly well received except the last number, “Smarty”, which pulled her up nicely and gave her a good strong finish. 12 minutes, olio in 1.

Eckhoff & Gordon

Musical laugh-makers. This act went fairly well all the way through and the finish was moderately strong. Not a distinct hit but got by nicely. 15 minutes, palace in 5.

Ryan & Fritz

A wonderful pair of dancers, who gained attention the minute they entered and like a whirlwind all the way through. A really great dancing act. 8 minutes, street in one.

Rayno’s Bull Dogs

A most notorious dog act in which a great number of novel and entertaining feats are introduced, all of which made a distinct hit, the act throughout being very successful and finishing very strong. 10 minutes, garden in 5.

Kitamura Japanese Troupe

Went big. Eight Japs in a series of stunts common to all acts of the kind. All the work is nicely done and the costuming is, as usual, very elaborate and striking. The act carries a drop for a background, which creates no end of talk because of its beauty. The act throughout is strong and scored the biggest hit of anything ever seen here. Time 15 minutes.

Billy Cross

Went well. Singing and dancing and monologue. Talk is very good, and well handled. Songs, fair. Dancing (clog) good. Works in one. Time 13 min.

Jennie Edwards

Went well. Comedienne. Sings three songs, furnishing her own accompaniment on an organ for the second, changes costume. Works in one, and two. As very good act. Time 10 minutes.

Miaco Pantomime Co.

Went bad. Acrobatic and trick hose act by four men. The acrobatic work is good and gained some applause but the comedy is of little account. Act dragged at the matinee (and was but little improved at the night show.) One man does a tramp and the others are waiters, the scene representing the front of a series of buildings upon the street. The act was given its first showing here and may develop into something worthy but as given today will never add weight to any bill. Time 17 Minutes. Full Stage.
