14 mins. Gar. in 3. Quick change artist. He just falls short of having a mighty good act. His changes are quick, but his dialogue is delivered in monotone, and gets monotonous. The stage has to be in semi-darkness throughout the act, for his changes are not complete enough to stand inspection on a well-lighted stage. Act went well, but could be made to go much better, Good three-a-day act.
15 mins. in one. German comedians and wooden show dancers; have some talk that is clever in spots, and received many laughs. Good three-a-day act
15 mins. Gar. in 3. Some very pretty and clean dogs; a very neat dog act, somewhat out of the ordinary. Man was a little rough with the dogs, and this detracted some from the act. For a three-a-day act, it’s all right. It’s the man and not the dogs that keeps the act out of the two-a-day class.
Man and woman who present a talking act in a very unusual manner and they have some new stuff and old jokes, so old that they are new, and that they get away with their work in great shape. The audience were highly pleased. I rather expected to see quite a little dancing which they didn’t have in their act, and in this way, I was mislead in the arrangement on the program. 18 min. in one, 3 shows
– This is a very nice little slack wire act and the man is assisted by a woman. She looks pretty and they have a little quiet comedy and all in all the act is safe any time before 8:30. 11 min. full stage 3 shows.
Yankee stories and songs. This man has some material which is new to us and has a pleasant method of delivering it. He was very well accepted by the audience and from a three day standpoint should be rated as quite good. 15 min. in one, 3 shows.
Man and woman Rifle Shots. As we do not get many of these kind of acts there acceptable and this is all right for an important place on the bill. It is by no means, as good as Winona & Frank, who do a very acceptable act, of course, but it is all right doing three a day. 11 min. full stage, 3 shows.
They gave us a good selection of views this week, the feature of which was a long 7 minute film entitled the “Lifeboat” which is a very striking picture. 18 minutes in one
YNH 2. Three men, one of them made up as a woman, and what is probably the best wire act in the country. 16 minutes, full stage.
– MRR 2. This is another act which should not, when possible to do otherwise, be placed too far down on the bill, for the reason that he is very quiet. They had quite a funny lot of patter and sang one or two funny songs and was very cordially received, closing with a recitation which takes the place of his old baseball story, and at the same time gives him a chance to introduce newsboys’ slang, with which he is always makes a hit. He was greeted with a reception when he came on this afternoon, which would indicate that he is a favorite. 22 minutes in one
