2 shows, 9 min. Full stage. European vocalists and eccentric dancers. Billed “the original Vienna Caricature” dancers. Second time here and scored just as big a hit. Their work is exceptionally artistic.
3 shows, 11 min. open in 2, close in 1. “Real coon” singers, known as the “Major and the Maid”. Rastus is one of the most agile acrobatic dancers on the stage, and his work makes a strong finish.
2 shows, 10 min. in 1. Soprano vocalist of fair ability. She is good to look up on, costumes tastefully, but her voice is growing thread. She did not go very strong
3 shows, 11 min. in 1. In singing and dancing specialties. They costume neatly, and went well all through, the finish being particularly strong. Clark can out shout Subers.
Two men, a woman, and a young boy in a casting act on the high bars, and I think fully as clever an act of this nature as we ever play. 10 minutes, full stage
In their familiar Irish sketch, “The Old Neighborhood,” which I consider a great piece of character work, especially Callahan’s impersonation of the old Irish man. The act always goes strong here. 21 minutes, full stage.
NH 3. A colored man and woman in an act that is a little different from the usual turn presented by negroes [sic], in that they did very little talking in their act, but mostly singing and, of course, a little dancing. One of the strongest bits of the acts is the old time cat duet, during which they wear masks representing cats’ faces and which made a great hit this afternoon, and I imagine will do so all along the line. 14 minutes, open in one, then going to full stage, and closing in one.
GRR 3. A man and a woman in a comedy sketch, the man being a brother of Sam Bernard. The sketch falls a little short of being good, although Bernard manages very well before this audience with his imitations of his brother, Sam Bernard. The act is entirely too long will have to be cut. 25 minutes, open full stage close in one.
The company consists of Jules Kusel. They are doing a pretty little sketch entitled “A Honeymoon in the Catskills.” In this house at least, it is one of the best sketches from a three-a-day standpoint that we ever play. 15 minutes, full stage.
28 min. Bare Stage. Sketch “Her Last Rehearsal.” The audience laughed continuously throughout the sketch. It proved the greatest laugh-getter presented in this house this week. Very good act.
