Gardner & Vincent

“An Idyl of the Links”. This is quite an attractive sketch, some funny situations. Gardner’s eccentric dancing and tumbling very good. Can be classed as a good sketch, went quite strong. Full stage. Time 17 minutes.

Wartenburg Brothers

Double foot Experts. This is a remarkably good act; though a hard place on the bill, they made good and gained a good round applause. Full stage. Time 8 minutes.

Valerie Bergere and Company

2 shows, 30 min. full stage. First time here in her new playlet, “His Japanese Wife”. There can be no question about Miss Berger’s ability to play this character, and her support is good. The piece was listened to with interest, the comedy lines were all laughed at, and the pathos at the finish applauded. In its way, it might be considered as having scored an artistic hit, still I do not think patrons of this form of amusement hunker for such acts, and, personally, I want to go on record as being opposed to their booking. We can do much better with the money so far as pleasing is concerned.

Metropolitan Quartette

12 mins. Prison in 2, close in one. Two men and two women, high class singing act. A very artistic offering that appeals to the better class of patrons.

Geo. E. Austin

NH 3. Comedy wire act, practically the same act that he has been doing for the last fifteen or twenty years. With the introduction of the stage hands and supers he managed to keep the audience entertained, and I don’t know but that he went fully as well as he ever did. 15 minutes, full stage.

Hutchinson & Bainbridge

GRR 3. A man and a woman in a comedy sketch. There is not a great deal to the act, but it is entirely inoffensive. It is very well dressed and they managed to extract quite a lot of laughter before they finished. It is all right in the three show a day section. 21 minutes, full stage.

The La Jess.

NR 3. A man and a woman in a rather novel act of contortion. The man is really very clever. They have quite a pretty stage setting and made a very favorable impression. 12 minutes, full stage.

Parros Bros.

12 min. Gar. in 3. Acrobatic hand and head balancing. Probably as good as any artists in this line that have ever played here.

Geo. W. Day

15 mins. in one. Blackface monologue. Day had some new and good stuff, and received many laughs and frequent applause. Very good act.

Robert Hilliard & Co

22 mins. Fancy Interior in 3. Presenting “Number 973.” Here for the second time. Too well known for comment. Always goes very strong here.
