“Court by Girls”

The act was twenty-eight minutes long. A “cissified” male defendant (Tom Ward), is tried by a six member female jury before a female judge (Daisy Belmore) for having fallen in love with the plaintiff (Estelle Theband). The jury box and court tables were decorated with a pink color scheme, giving the set an “unmistakable feminine touch.” The act included individual solos and several “trot” bits. There was suspicion of “plants”, due to “unwonted applause vigor in a certain section of the house.”

Pearl Evans and Co.

This musical comedy was twenty-four minutes long on the full stage. The cast includes a six girls, a prima donna ingenue, a juvenile man, and an Irish comedian. The production and story is very similar to burlesque.

“The Magic Cloak”

In this sketch the principal actors are not billed by name. A man dressed as a hunchback tells three women to try on a clock to reveal their true natures. They do a spirit dance and the man chooses the best dancer to be his bride.

Lulu Glaser with Thos. D. Richards and Co.

This sketch entitled “First Love” was twenty-four minutes long. Lulu Glaser plays a woman who is betrothed to a solider-tenor who she has never met. She dresses as a maid in order to find out his true nature. They get along well. Thomas D. Richards plays the soldier-tenor and sings a few numbers in a red and gold uniform. Glaser wears a black maid’s uniform and a pretty pink gown.
