Kennedy & James

Man and woman in a comely sketch, closing with some eccentric dancing in one. This act is only just fair. They have the idea all right, but seem to hardly reach the audience until they get nearly to the finish, when with their eccentric dancing they close fairly well. All right in an early part of the bill. 15 Mins. Open full stage, can close in one if necessary. KR.

Princess Rajah

On at 3:50, 15 minutes full stage. Any doubt as to the advisability of playing this act was dispelled this afternoon. There is certainly nothing in the dance at all objectionable, and even the snake part of it lost some of its creepiness. The act was certainly a big hit and got half a dozen curtains.

“Princess Rajah”

14 min. F.S. This is a great act and no mistake. The way Rajah presented it this afternoon there could not be the slightest objection to it. On the contrary, it is one of the most artistic and original acts of this kind ever seen here, and the music and stage setting leave nothing to be desired to make it finished and effective. The tragic finish to the first part of the act got a rousing hand, and the dance with the heavy chair in her teeth scored big. Think Rajah will draw well, particularly as there can be no objections to the entire feature as given today.

Friedland & Clark

Singing, talking and dancing skit, 15 minutes, (3). Fair act, making some very heroic attempts at comedy which does not seem to ‘arrive.’ A fairly good dance at the finish redeems the act to some extent.

Jean & Wily Hayes

Singing, talking and dancing skit. 13 minutes in (I). Fairly good act, the man displaying considerable ability in his dancing numbers. The girl helps considerably with her comedy propensities which were successful in production more or less laughter. Their singing in worthy of at least passing mention.

De Mar & Fortune

‘My Sweetheart.’ 15 min, FS, closing in 1. Plot of the sketch rather slender, but it makes an excuse to offer a series of very fetching songs which were well done. Fortune appears in a smart costume of a lieutenant. Miss De Mar appears in a very pretty gown of white, which she afterwards exchanges for a solider costume. They sing with a great deal of spirit and dash. The last song, ‘Take off your Hat to the Red, White and Blue’ received a very good hand and a recall.

Smirl & Kessner

“The Bell Boy and the Waiting Maid.” Both are good acrobatic dancers and have a lively act, full stage, closing in one, 19 minutes.

Rado & Bertram

“The New Girl” 18 min. F.S. 3 shows. On at 7:00 This sketch gives a dancer and contortionist a chance to show their skill, with changes of costume. It is only a fair three-a-day act and is practically the same as when it appeared here only last August.

Rado & Bertram

“The New Girl”: 17 min. F.S. 3 shows. This sketch is written mainly to give a dancer and a contortionist opportunities to do some very good work. The changes of costume by the girl are rather effective and her work passes muster. The contortionist received the bulk of the applause and helps to hold down the act in this place. The band at the finish was only fair.
