La Belle Titcomb

The Singer on Horseback. One of the most beautiful closing acts I have ever played and one which will create a lot of talk. She was sore because she was not billed as large as Wills and Fay and did some general all-around kicking. Despite that fact I do not hesitate to declare her act a good one for any manager in the country to close his show with. Own set in 4. Time 20 min.

Jed and Ethel Dooley

A neat little couple in a little singing, some pretty good dancing, a little cycling and some roping. Not a big act by any means, but a pleasant little opening act. The boy has a likable personality and considerable ability but the girl does not amount to much. 10 min. F.S. Close in one about 4 min.

Billie Burke’s Wild West

Second week. 20 minutes f.s. In an early spot in the bill of the comedy of it gets away in good shape. Went well at both performance to-day, although the lariat thrower was a little off. The girl who rides the bucking broncho had a narrow escape to-night.

Samson & Delilah

Time 9. Man and woman. C.D.F. Juggling and novelty acrobatics. This is a great act full of real originality. It is far too good for an opener.

Ray Cox

Opens in one, then to three with special rigging for aeroplane. I want to give this girl credit for coming back every year with something new and making just a little bit bigger hit each time she comes. She just simply walked away with the entire show and probably she would have been there yet, if she had any more stuff. I’ll take off my hat to any set in one that can hold next to the closing position for 34 minutes, and then come back and take six or eight bows. (Atlanta)

The Three Saytons

Made a very good closing feature for the show, because of the spectacular side of the act, the audience waiting, being attracted by the scenery and make-up of the men as crocodiles, and having waited they were well repaid by some very clever contortion work by the two men. 10 min F.S.

Ollie Young & April

Man and woman in “The Act from Toyland.” Soap bubbles, boomerang throwing, diablo, work. Excellent novelty act. Made very favorable impression all the way through. Good finish. Garden in 5, 11 minutes. (Scranton, Pa.)

Winsor McCay

22 min in one. Advance applause. Mr. McCay has certainly got the goods in this new act of his. It is really the most novel and interesting cartoon acts that we have ever played and is brilliantly original. Held the interest of the audience from start to finish and the close was immense.

Bartholomae Players

In “And They Lived Happy Ever After.” 12 min F.S. This is a novel act in which a melodramatic novel is supposed to be read by the author and acted in burlesque pantomime by the rest of the cast. Full of surprises and a good many laughs. Closed well after the mock dramatic finish.

Billie Burke’s Wild West

20 minutes f.s. This is an act that land itself to advertising and I have no doubt whatever is largely responsible for the big business at both performances to-day. The specialties, such as sharpshooting, lariat throwing, and bucking broncho riding, are all good, and after the afternoon performance to-day the show was tightened up form 25 minutes to 20 and improved wonderfully. The comedy has been cut down until now it gets by in good shape, and this evening finished up one of the strongest comedy shows ever played in the house.
