Hebrew character comedian, caught on from the start and went very big all the way through. 10 min. in one.
This is a standard monologue act which compares favorably with most of the others in its line, but somehow or other it did not land very hard this afternoon. Am expecting better things tonight. 21 Min. in One.
This English entertainer was warmly received and his work thoroughly appreciated. Will please any intellectual audience and gives tone and character to a program. In one.
Song writer and comedian. 22 min. in one. Mr. Thorton has apparently seen his best days as an entertainer. His Sunday matinee offering was a long, tiresome monologue of jokes and stories which he has told here long ago, and more than a hundred people walked out on him. At the matinee he fell flat. His delivery is poor, and there is no life in it. Sunday night he followed the same monologue, with an attempt at singing, but this, too, fell flat. This high salaried attraction is a dampener in an otherwise good show. To have kept him in seventh place Sunday night would have probably emptied half the house. We substituted Ward & Curran, who held the entire audience. Chicago.
Wilder is the same old humorist with a very entertaining monologue. He appears only after his introduction to the audience in a photo play called, “The Cobbler,” which is an interesting moving picture. Twenty-eight minutes in one.
“The Little German.” Just a little different from the rank and file of German comedians. Has a fairly good line of talk and went well today. O.K. for this spot in the larger “small-time.” Street in 1. Time 13 min.
This is a likely young fellow with a fairly good monologue which in spots is very good indeed. His recital of the “Charge of the Light Brigade” as given by an effeminate young man, was decidedly funny. 15 Min. in One.
16 min. F.S. Makes a very effective entrance with the automobile, and opens his act with some new stuff that is very amusing indeed. In fact, his whose act is full of fun and surprises that get all parts of the house. Laughter and applause throughout and a strong close.
