Jokes and stories.
More war atmosphere was injected into the show by the appearance of Leo Donnelly in a monologue. The fact that Donnelly does not sing makes his act all the harder for him, but he has a lot of good material and several corking good stories, most of them new here. For the finish he recited a bit of verse about a Jewish boy that hit a high mark of favor in this house which has a tremendous Jewish clientele. Donnelly is a Philadelphia boy and did a monologue here several years ago. He has gained considerable poise since then and delivers his monologue in a telling way, without frills and was a big applause and laugh winner.
