Juggler. This man does some good work but he lacks finish and after having seen Cinquevalli, Spadoni and others of that class this man does not happen at all. Of course, he does not get the salary, and had I a show in which I could put him on no later that 8:30, he would be alright, but he hasn’t the strength to finish the bill and I haven’t anything else to put down there. 17 min, full stage, 2 shows.
Man and woman in a comedy juggling act, which is greatly improved since last here; the juggling part is better. He manages to break many plates thus securing the laughs. His encore in one is not long enough to clear, therefore, will have to place an act in one to follow. 11 minutes, full stage.
Palace, 23 minutes. Juggler of Cannon Balls and other light and heavy objects. This is surely a great act-one that makes people talk. I think the one fault with this act is the fact of its being entirely to long. Instead of doing 23 minutes, if he were to cut it to about 13 or 14 minutes I am sure the act would be much more valuable. As it is, the audience tires somewhat. At the close of the act the applause is not nearly so strong as it would be were the act shorter. I have tried to tell Mr. Spadoni this but he seems to think the managers want long acts. However, it is an act that would repeat with us.
2 shows, 18 minutes, open full stage, close in 1. In their familiar comedy juggling specialty, which scored the laughing hit of the show, as always. Bedini was a little stiff, owing to the dislocation of his arm and the fact that he was not practiced in six weeks past, Arthur’s comedy was simply a scream.
3 shows, 16 min. open full stage, close in 1. These people offer a variety of work, including rag picture making, juggling and equilibristic feats, and in all they are fairly clever, but awkward in everything they do, and the man’s efforts to be funny decidedly detract form the act. There is absolutely nothing new in what they do and they will never fill an important place in any bill.
Juggling act which I have not seen. Will report upon it tomorrow. Later – very bad.
GRR 2. Juggler. This fellow is rather a neat performer, but with the exception of one single trick, he does nothing but a lot of hackneyed material, the most of which is offered by jugglers doing three performances a day. I don’t consider that he is strong enough to go over the balance of the circuit. 15 minutes, full stage.
15 mins. Gar. in 3. Two men, juggling clubs, balls, pates, etc., one working straight, the other as comedian. Good little sight act, pleasing and entertaining
3 shows, 14 min. open in 3, close in 1. Comedy juggling act, one man working straight and manipulating Indian clubs the other in eccentric makeup, doing a lot of burlesque jugglery with various articles. It panned out better than I thought, the comedian getting a lot of laughs and the straight man considerable applause.
KR 3. Comedy jugglers. This is a very good act considered from a three-show-a-day standpoint, both men make up eccentric, and one man makes his entrance in a crazy sort of an automobile. They do about the regulation of tricks of all comedy jugglers but have quite a lot of funny work with the auto by the aid of which they close very strong. 14 minutes, full stage.
