9 min. full stage. Carry their own backdrop. Baton, gun and torch jugglers. Very good 3-a-day act, in fact, a good 2-a-day opening act in the smaller cities. Dressed in white semi-military costumes. The girl is rather pretty. Work is fast and well executed.
Two men club jugglers on revolving globes. Well known. Went fairly well in this place and always an acceptable three show offering 10 min. Full stage.
Two boys. Club jugglers. This act was booked here to work in one. It is just simply impossible. We worked them in two and that was as near the foot lights as we dared put them. They do as difficult stunts as the Mowatts or the Johnsons. It would endanger the heads of the musicians and of those in the front orchestra seats to have them throwing six and eight clubs at terrific speed through the air out on the foot lights. However, I doubt it they could do it even if we would let them. The act is an excellent one their work being liberally applauded. Drapery in two, close in open. 8 minutes.
There is no gainsaying that these people are a great bluff in everything but their artistic finish. Not one of them is in the slightest degree a clever juggler but they make the people believe that they are very fine before they get through with them although they didn’t make the hit which their salary demands. There is no reason, in my mind, why they should be getting within $300 of the figure they are. 18 min, full stage, 2 shows.
12 minutes, garden. Juggling. This young lady is a big hit here, doing many of the difficult tricks performed by Salerno and does them equally as well. I consider her a great act-one that will stand special billing.
Four men and one woman. Comedy juggling act styled after the Agoust Family. These people are much more versatile than the Agoust Family. Their juggling is much better and of greater variety. The act is not dressed as well but seems to please just as much. Some of the individual work was extremely clever. A very good act. Palace in 5, 8 minutes.
3 men and a woman. In their well known juggling act. I think from the novelty standpoint, the edge is worn off. Act is nicely dressed and they managed to secure numerous laughs throughout. Got a big strong hand for the plate-throwing on the finish. 19 min, full stage, 2 shows.
2 shows, 18 min, full stage. Justly famous European juggler. I billed this man as the headliner, but nevertheless many of our patrons did not wait. I agree with the other houses that he is the best entertainer in his line we have ever had. Will move him up to the spot occupied by the Keatons for tonight.
Tramp Juggler, 15 min. in 3. 3 shows. Good opener. Man’s work is quite expert and his comedy is fair. None of the tricks was new, but they were up to the three-a-day standard. He missed quite a number of his tricks, but this is probably owing to the excessive heat and nervousness of his first appearance here. Think he will be better later.
Europe’s greatest woman juggler. This is without a doubt one of the best straight juggling acts we have had here this season especially her work with the hard, rubber balls, and billiard cues. In the 13 minutes that she was on she only missed one trick and considering the place she was on the bill she certainly made good and held the audience until close without any trouble. She closes her act juggling the lighted torches which received a hand all the way through. This act ought to make good anywhere. F.S. Wood 13 minutes.
