Juggler. This young woman has improved since last here. She works quick and has a lot of new tricks. She was well received, and it is an excellent act for an early place. 12 mins. full stage.
Man does some fairly good juggling from a 3 a day standpoint; the woman is simply an assistant. No reason on earth why they should get as much money as they do, because it is entirely a single act, the woman cuts no figure whatever. 11 min, full stage, 3 shows. Could do a short close in 1.
This fellow does a very good act. It is a little out of the ordinary juggling acts. He appears in Japanese costume making it a very neat act. The only trouble being that there is no comedy in the act. Went very well. 15 minutes, full stage.
3 shows, 13 min, open in 2, close in 1. Man and woman juggling small articles. The woman is a mere ornament. The cigar box juggling, of which there was considerable, was spoiled by the reason of fact that Harrigan appeared here last week. Can be considered a fair act from the 3-a-day standpoint.
Heavyweight juggler. First time here. This man opened a little tame. Being nervous, missed some of his tricks, but later on got the audience and held them. All of his heavy work was strongly applauded and he will no doubt create some talk, as he is one of the best heavyweight jugglers we ever had. Compelled to take several bows on his finish. The applause hit of the show. The assistant secured quite a number of laughs for his comedy. 26 min – full stage – 2 shows.
14 mins. in 3m close 3 min in 11. Baseball juggler. Very acceptable opener. Carries his own drop showing a base-ball field. Some of his stunts received a good hand and the novelty of the act seemed to make up for any short-comings in phenominal [sic] dexterity. His work in 1 with the wand was particularity new and clever, and was well liked.
On at 2.13, 7 min in 2, close in 1; 2 min; 9 min in all. A very good club-juggling act, almost as good as the McBanns. Went very well in this spot and could hold a better one. I consider it an excellent act at one twenty-five.
The Tramp Juggler. He sings some parodies and tells some jokes, all of which were bordering on the suggestive. This is no surprise, as he generally follows as close to the dead line as he dare. During his juggling he continually roasted the audience, because it was stingy with applause. Drop in two Close in one. 19 minutes
ON at 6.28, 9 min, full stage; 3 shows. A fair baton-juggling act, well known on the circuit. Played them in September. They were added at the last minute on Saturday to fill out time. They hadly come up to the mark with a 9 minute turn. Would not think of playing them twice in a season, except in case of emergency.
Many and woman: The former extracts quite a bit of laughter by breaking up a lot of china and the latter does some very ordinary juggling. — Decidedly not a pretty act to the eye and one that makes but a fairly favorable impression. – 14 minutes C.D.F.
