This comedy juggler has not been here in a long time, and although we had a star juggling act last week, and a juggling act the week before that Fields carried off the palm for applause. Although he cannot be compared to Salerno for artistic finish. Fields work appeals to everybody, and he was a decided and emphatic hit. 13 min. FS. Can close in one about two minutes.
A little juggling which does not amount to a great deal followed by some knife throwing by the man at the woman, being the old fashioned impalement act which seemed quite new to this audience yesterday and got considerable applause. 12 min. full stage, 3 shows.
A young juggler who was unfortunate this afternoon in missing many of his tricks, due no doubt to the fact that he has been laying off and must have been out of practice. He was no [sic] good natured about the misses however that he finally got the audience with him and it entered into the spirit of the situation and laughed bot [sic] at and with him. No doubt this fellow is clever, in fact he demonstrated as much and finally got things coming after a very hard fight. 11 minutes palace.
Juggling: 18 min. F.S. close in 1. 3 shows. On at 7:30, Man and Woman, the former working eccentric booby, and the woman in dainty white costume. Well known act with very little variations from their previous work. Include some juggling, catching apples on the fork thrown from audience, etc. Close in one was very good, with one curtain call.
12 min. F.S. 2 shows. On at 9:36. Well known on the circuit. One of the best of the European comedy juggling acts being beautifully costumed, swift in action and artistic. Many new feats. There is not an idle moment on the part of any of the performers. Valuable act on any bill. First part of the act went very badly to-day, as they missed constantly, but pulled up later and closed well.
Juggler and a crackerjack who got his audience early in his work and help it throughout his act. He introduced a number of novel feats and received a rousing good hand at his finish. He will hold the closing place on the bill without the last trouble and his work should create favourable comment. 17 minutes. Palace
On at 6.48, 12 min, full stage, 3 shows. A foreigner who has come over to take a chance and is working this as a trial week. He juggles rubber balls exclusively. He attempts comedy, but his humor is pathetic. I think that his act would be all right straight, for he really does some capital work. Cannot recommend him very highly on his showing today, but if he improves sufficiently to warrant, will make further report on him.
This man got the house from the start-off. Had them laughing continually. His work consists of juggling balls, cigars, hats, but entirely different from any other juggler we ever had. His billiard ball trick on the finish in a scream. 14 minutes, F. stage.
Three men made up as Japs Juggling balls, knives, fire brands ect. Rapid workers. Secured quite a number of laughs by the apple catching on the style of the Pelots. Finished strong. 13 min. full stage.
Spec. set. FS, 2 women one man. 16 minutes. A dainty and distinct juggling novelty. The three work together in great shape, and give a smooth performance of wonderful skill. They juggle tennis rackets, balls, and Indian clubs. The audience is held spell bound. Applause was frequent during this act. But for some reason there was not much applause at the close. One of the best juggling acts we have ever had.
