Japanese juggler and barrel tossing. He is one of the oldest as well as one of the most reliable of the Japanese performers in the business. He can always be depended on to make good in almost any place on the bill. Naturally, we put him on early because he has played the circuit so often, but I have never known him to fail in arousing interest. 17 minutes, full stage.
This is a man and a woman in a double juggling specialty. It is a new act and has never been on the circuit before. They do a lot of tricks that, while they are not especially difficult, are exceedingly welcome on account of the novelty, for there is scarcely anything that they present that has even been done by anybody else, and what old material they do present is offered in a new way and is a very acceptable turn indeed, and should make good all over the circuit. 12 minutes, open full stage, and close without about three minutes in one.
Comedy juggler. This fellow comes mighty close to being as good as W.C. Fields. In fact he has more original ideas than any performer in his line who I have ever seen. He is not a very great juggler, but he has some very funny novelties in his act that set the audience howling before he does anything at all. 15 minutes, open full stage, close in 4 minutes in one.
Elders just escapes being about the best juggler that America ever produced. He does about all the tracks that any of the European performers ever do, and his principal drawback is a lack of grace and personality. Norine is simply his assistant, and, in my mind, does not add particularly to his act. They are excellent time fellows, and as a whole it can be called a satisfying turn. 19 minutes, full stage; could close in one if necessary.
A man and woman in a comedy juggling and dancing act. As a small act, from a three-a-day show standpoint, it is a good turn, but while I was obliged to give them two shows this trip around in order to get them at any reasonable sort of salary, it is not by any means a two show a day act, but is all right in this place on the bill. 10 minutes, full stage.
14 minutes full stage. Comedy juggling. Same big hit as ever. An act that always pleases.
10 minutes full stage. Juggling novelty, strong man assisted by comedian. Very good act of its kind. Pleased in this spot.
12 min. full stage (can close in 1, if need be) – One of these men works straight, while the other makes up as a clown and does the comedy work. It is a fair act, the hit being scored at the finish by some clever foot juggling, when the clown tosses the other man about.
14 minutes in three. A very clever juggler who is a good showman as well.
A man and woman in a hoop rolling and club juggling act. It is the same specialty that they have done with us several times and is really a pretty act. Their work is clever and their wardrobe of the neatest. I think in its entirety it is one of the best acts of the kind that we play. 11 minutes, full stage.
