10 minutes f.s. close in two. Unquestionably one of the very best opening acts that we have had in a long time. In fact, the work of these men on their hands is really wonderful, and would not hesitate to make them a feature of any bill.
13 min. F.S. This act makes a good opener for a summer show. Tricks for the most part are not new, but the man makes a good appearance and works well, and his comedian gives him good assistance. Closed with the billiard and ball trick, which has never been seen here before.
10 min. F.S. This is a splendid opening act. The stage setting with the dark plush bordered with gold makes a very fine background for the stunning pink and silver costumes of the two women and the man, all of whom make an excellent appearance. The baton swinging is remarkable, and their work with the hoops is good. Closed very well with whirling torches.
11 min. F.S. Man and woman, the former working tramp comedy, the latter a pretty soubrette in two changes of costume. Comedian makes entrance with burlesque automobile and gets a few laughs with his explosion. After this, his partner does a very pretty dancing stunt. The juggling follows, all of the regulation order but good, particularly the comedy which accompanies. Closed to an exceptionally good hand.
17 min. in one. This well known act went as well as ever this afternoon. The “strongman” work is excellent, the comedy is good, and the stage setting leaves nothing to be desired. Good applause during the act and satisfactory finish.
17 min. F.S., close in one. This man has certainly profited by everybody in his line, including Cinquevali and Tom Edwards. His work covers a little of everything in the juggling line from billiard balls to Japanese balancing stunts. His blackface assistance puts a good deal of comedy in the act, particularly his crockery-smashing. Held the spot O.K., and closed in one very satisfactorily.
The act is really done by one man The lady is simply handling him articles but he is a clever juggler and has a good line of talk. He made quite a hit. 18 minutes opening full stage long close in one.
9 min in full stage
Little girl with a good routine of juggling, works fast and made a nice opener.
Juggling act and a little comedy dialogue interspersed. Lawton does some very clever juggling and the act must be rated as a good one. 12 minutes in two.
30 minutes f.s. Close in one. This is a fairly good opening act with a little of everything in the way of juggling, and comedy of a mild sort. Close in one fills the time acceptably.
